Batman Arkham Knight Trailer Delivers

batman, nextgen

Batman

The latest release of a cinematic preview for the upcoming installment of the Batman game franchise shows exactly what a next generation system is capable of.

In the stirring, realistic visuals, Bruce Wayne suits up to narration read by his father. Besides having one scary look suit of bat shaped armor, the game also reveals something long left out of the Arkham series, the Batmobile.

It’s mean looking, fast and eats through parked cars, gun-fire and explosions. Scale would never allowed the necessity of such a tool in previous titles and Bat-fans have had to turn to the Lego games if they wanted behind the wheel of anything made by Waynetech.

The game is being released solely for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The graphics are refined and fluid. New and old players of the series will be impressed.

Almost more exciting is the return of Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman. Conroy is the same actor who lent his talents to the now iconic 1990’s Batman The Animated Series. For many, myself included, there is no other who more accurately captures the sound of Bruce Wayne and his alter-ego.

The latest game takes the Caped Crusader out of the prisons he’d prowled before and out into the streets of Gotham. The game world will be so large that it makes better more wide-reaching transportation a necessity.

PlayStation Network Error E-82204301 Causing Trouble, How to Fix?

PlayStation

“An error has occurred (E-82204301)”. This is the blue screen message that a lot of people on the PlayStation Network are starting to get used with, unfortunately and nobody seems to know how to fix it.

The even worse thing about the E-82204301 error on PlayStation is that it doesn’t appear to be detailed anywhere, but certainly is a network error that makes playing online games extremely difficult. The PlayStation forums are filled with complaints from angry gamers who either find it difficult to chat with fellow gamers or are having trouble accessing online features in games such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 and more.

Apparently, the PlayStation error E-82204301 is related to chat functions and fortunately Sony is aware of the situation and announced that they’re working to fix this so hopefully they will release a fix very soon.

What about you? Have you been affected or are you still affected by the E-82204301 PlayStation Network error?

Naughty Dog details development process of Left Behind, teases new DLC

Naughty Dog

Over the weekend, Naughty Dog released a new documentary on the making of The Last Of Us: Left Behind, detailing the creative process for the much revered expansion.

While this documentary is around the ten minute mark, it is similar to ‘Grounded’, the making of documentary Naughty Dog released with the season pass. It’s also worth noting that the video spoils much of Left Behind and the original game, so watchat your own risk.

What’s more, Naughty Dog also mentioned a new difficulty mode for The Last Of Us and details on the final DLC drop. While no details were mentioned as of yet, I expect that this new difficulty setting will be even more challenging than Survivor mode, which was already brutal to say the least.

“It is chock full of multiplayer goodness with new maps, new weapons, new skills, and also a brand new difficulty mode for the single player campaign.”

The Last Of Us was a very fun and intense multiplayer experience, though it had a few setbacks that took away from any potential longevity it could’ve offered. The game featured only a few weapons, six maps, and two game modes, so it was very easy to get tired of the repetition. Naughty Dog did release a DLC pack containing four new maps and a new game-mode, but we were never offered more weapons or skills, so this should be the DLC we’ve been itching for.

How to Fix Thief 2014 Crashes, Graphics Stuttering and Problems

Crashes

The highly anticipated release of Thief (2014) has come and gamers all over the world are stealthing their ways out from and into the shadows. However, not all players are as lucky to enjoy a flawless experience, and some reports are coming from upset gamers who encounter, except for the enemies, Thief crashes, stuttering and other game problems.

We are here to try and give you a helping hand if you’re one of those affected and in this article we’re going to try to find out how to fix Thief 2014 crashes, stutters and other issues. Because this is indeed a game that must be enjoyed to the max!

1. How to fix Thief crashes after loading a stage
The good way out of this would be to check your game’s integrity in Steam. Quit Steam, do a check, quit Steam, do a check again. If this is not working, some forum users are reporting that increasing their Virtual Memory allocation somehow does the trick for them, so you should try it too.

2. How to fix Thief 2014 random crashes and system reboot
The game has been already patched, so make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest game patch. It might also be caused by the graphics card drivers you are using – make sure you download and use the latest version of drivers (try the Beta drivers, optimized for Thief 2014).

3. How to fix Thief stuttering and graphics performance
People are complaining that for a game that isn’t the best looking one of the new gen, it uses up a lot of resources and is poorly optimized, resulting in the game stuttering and generally dropping the FPS rate. If you experience such issues, the first thing you should do would be tuning down the graphics.

If you get these problems especially during your visits to the districts, try to disable the levelstreaming in the ini file (Steam\SteamApps\common\Thief\ThiefGame\Config\ThiefEngine.ini). This will surely help!

Finally, check out the SSAA settings. Keeping these as low as possible will improve your game’s experience. Usually, simply tuning this setting down will result in a much better game experience.

For now these are the fixes for the Thief 2014 crashes and stuttering of the graphics. Probably the developers of the game will do some tweaking and optimization and soon we’ll have a new patch that will improve the frame rates and hopefully reduce the number of crashes. Until then, use our recommended fixes and you should do fine!

Do you have problems running Thief 2014? Have you found any other solutions to fix them? Let us know!

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Drops In Price

Metal Gear

The much debated interim installment of the Metal Gear Solid series, Ground Zeroes, will be selling for less than originally announced.

Konami has announced a $10 price reduction in the title for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.  According to a press release issued by the company the company wants to “provide as many people as possible an opportunity to experience Productions’ FOX Engine and the first installment in the two-part METAL GEAR SOLID V experience.”

Taking the game down from $40 to $30 is likely a response to a questionable game length that sparked outrage online.

Despite reassurances by the games creator that MGS: Ground Zeroes has several side missions and extensive replay value the company has found itself having to justify a main story line beatable in less than two hours.

Ground Zeroes will also now contain downloadable content for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, including additional resources for players’ “mother base,” a reported key point in MGS 5.

The game will be released on March 18 for both Microsoft and Sony consoles. A release date has not been set for MGS 5.

The Console Wars Return But To A Bigger Screen

Wars

If you were gaming in the 90’s you had an opinion.Wars

Sega or Nintendo, everyone had to pick a side.

There weren’t crossover titles and there wasn’t a real third choice. The debate was heated between even the best of friends. Now the creative team that brought the world Super Bad, Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg, are joining forces yet again to create a movie based on Blake Harris’ upcoming book Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation.

Described on Amazon as a “a mesmerizing, behind-the-scenes business thriller,” Harris follows the rise, and fall, of Sega, an obscure arcade company that went head to head with Nintendo, the largest video-game company in the world.

The ensuing battle would lead to the incredible growth experienced by the industry, transforming it into the economic giant it is today.

It is unclear if the film will be a comedy, though Rogan and Goldberg will be both writing and directing the feature.

The book will be available for download this august and the film has only just entered development. There is no firm date for release.

Irrational Games Calls It Quits

Irrational

The studio responsible for popular titles Bioshock and Freedom Force will be shutting its doors for good.

Irrational Games, a Boston based company founded 17 years ago will be laying off the majority of its staff, reducing its number to about 15 core members.

“There’s no great way to lay people off,” said Ken Levine in a statement on Irrational’s website. “Our first concern is to make sure that the people who are leaving have as much support as we can give them during this transition.”

Levine has made it clear that the departing employees won’t be left out in the cold.

“Besides financial support, the staff will have access to the studio for a period of time to say their goodbyes and put together their portfolios.”

Levine is shutting the doors to focus on what he calls a “smaller, more entrepreneurial endeavor,” with Take Two Interactive, who bought Irrational Career PageIrrational in 2006.

A trip to the soon-to-be defunct studio’s career page results in an ominous 404 message.

The final release by the studio will be DLC for Bioshock Infinite available on March 25. Appropriately titled Burial At Sea , it will be a follow up to an expansion of the same title and cost $15. Levine has said it will contain four to five hours of new content and gameplay.
