Rayman Raving Rabbids Review: A Critically Acclaimed Video Game

Rayman Raving Rabbids Review

Rayman Raving Rabbids is a party video game similar to Mario Party and Sonic Shuffle. The video game isn’t canonically a part of the Rayman video game series, it’s a spinoff. Rayman Raving Rabbids offers intriguing gameplay, with deeply crafted characters and various immersive game modes. But some people hate it. What should a neutral do then? Reading our review is what they should be reading.

Introduction to a Brilliant Party Game

Rayman is simply one of the most iconic characters of all time, the limbless guy can perform parkour tricks, help poor souls, and has a kind demeanor. Rayman Raving Rabbids is a video game that explores more about his character as well as introduces some of the classic characters from the franchise.

The video game revolves around Rayman and Rabbids, our protagonist Rayman is imprisoned by Rabbids, and the only way he can escape is to complete trials for three consecutive days. Every task you complete earns you a reward great in value. The video game starts with a cutscene, where we see Rayman and Globox kids enjoying their time together. But suddenly an earthquake hits them, and they end up falling into the pit. Rabbids then proceed to kidnap him, and this is when his first trial begins.

Rayman nails at every trial he gets from Rabbids. Eventually, the Rabbids don’t find seeing him perform tricks as exciting as before and give him all the plunges. Which he uses to make a ladder and create an escape route.

The video game features up to 75 mini-games and two modes, scoring mode and story mode. Store mode is straightforward, however, the scoring mode is all about redoing or improving certain trials.

Is Rayman Raving Rabbids Worth it?

From the early 20s to mid-2010s, people enjoyed playing video games with non-existent cutscenes, if there any cutscenes were to appear on the screen, players quickly spammed the skip button to get back to controlling the playable character. Time has changed a lot, gamers now crave fascinating lore more than anything. Modern video games present what gamers want, a video game with a captivating story and loads of cutscenes, showcasing the characters’ nature. Nevertheless, Rayman Raving Rabbids offers a fair-paced adventure of Rayman with moderate cutscenes that explain the majority of the plot, the wrongdoings of Rabbids, and Rayman’s Ultimate escape plan.

Other than Rayman himself, all other characters are equally entertaining to watch and unique in themselves. While it’s clear that Rayman isn’t a meticulously detailed character, the actions he takes and his engagement in combat bring the most out of his character. The video game features loads of different characters that pan the story to where they want. Some of these are Professor Barranco, Timid Rabbid, Baby Globox, and Daisy The Cow.

The animation isn’t great but it’s not worse for a Rayman video game. Rayman has been there since the 1990s and the graphics quality has upped a lot in recent years, but we are here talking about a 2006 video game. This is why this video game executes the animation style and graphics well and clearly.

The music playlist of the video game is astonishing, the mix of disco and pop music is going to make you bop endlessly. The choice is made with utmost attention, which is why this video game series has some of the best music ever.

  • Creativity is something, this video doesn’t fail to offer. There is a variety of mini-games that are creative and immersive.
  • The video game’s soundtracks are soothing, and nearly all songs mix with the theme quite well. You are going to have an entirely new experience.
  • The video game’s humor and puns are hilarious and it becomes fun when players play together with friends. The vibrant selection of colors praises the video game to a great extent.

  • Rayman Raving Rabbids offers a weak plotline, and without a doubt, it’s unoriginal and unpleasant. Just by reading the lore out loud, you will have a feeling of emptiness.
  • The video game’s controls can be unresponsive and stressful sometimes, the response time is also considerably slow. Sometimes randomly after pressing a button, your game will be stuck for an indefinite amount of time.
  • The repetitive and short story mode can be boring, after playing the video game for consecutively 2-3 hours, you would want to exit the video game.

What Does the Media Think of It?

There are mixed reactions from different media and entertainment sources and video game stores. Talking about video game stores, steam rates this video game a solid 9/10, making PC gamers realize how valuable this video game is.
