Pokemon Quiz: Test your knowledge with this challenging poll

Pokemon Quiz

To celebrate the release of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, I figured a new quiz was in order. With PlayStation Quiz, Xbox Quiz, and Nintendo Quiz all covered, it’s time that we get down to the specifics. From the anime to the games, this quiz covers all the major Pokemon media.

As usual, the format is that questions are in bold and the answers are listed below in italics. Be sure to not peek before locking in your answer. Remember, cheaters never prosper. Otherwise, do your best and good luck!

What is the best selling Pokemon game ever released?

Pokemon Red/Blue/Green/Yellow. These generation one games have shipped over 48 million copies worldwide. Any of the generation one games are acceptable answers here.

Who is the final boss of Pokemon Snap?

charizard snap

Mew. The final level, Rainbow Cloud, tasks the player with capturing as good a picture as possible of the ever-cute mythical creature.

In Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky, what is it that Grovyle steals that causes time to freeze?

explorers of sky in Pokemon quiz

Time gears. In the Explorers games, Time Gears are responsible for both the flow of time and Dialga’s sanity. Once the Time Gears are stolen, the god of time himself will begin to succumb to his inner evil.

The legendary golems all represent a different time period of Earth’s history. Regirock represents the ___ age whilst Regice and Registeel represent the ___ and ___ ages. Fill in the blanks.

regi trio

Stone, ice, and iron ages. Interestingly, the two new Regis announced for Sword and Shield seem to represent the modern age (electric) and the middle ages (dark/dragon).

In generation 8, what are the full odds of finding a shiny Pokemon?

1/4096. However, using various tactics such as the Masuda method and having a Shiny Charm, these odds can be reduced as low as 1/512.

Pikachu is the official mascot of the Pokemon franchise, but this wasn’t always the case. Who was originally going to be the mascot instead?

pikachu

Clefairy. The franchise mascot is based off anime protagonist Ash’s signature Pokemon. In the show’s original concept, Ash partnered up with a Clefairy instead of his now-iconic Pikachu.

What country is each of the different main game’s regions based on?

Unova.

Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are all based on varying areas of Japan. Unova is based on the United States, Kalos on France, Alola on the Hawaiian Islands, and Galar on Great Britain.

In the anime Ash finally became a champion by winning Alola’s Pokemon League. What was the team he used in the finals versus Gladion?

ash alola league

Melmetal, Pikachu, and Lycanroc. Strangely, the final battle between Ash and Gladion was only a 3v3. Ash’s big 6v6 battle was instead against Professor Kukui in an exhibition match.

All of Kanto’s cities are named after various colors. Can you name all of the towns and cities that feature in the gen 1 games?

celadon city

Pallet, Viridian, Pewter, Cerulean, Vermilion, Lavender, Celadon, Fuchsia, Saffron, and Cinnabar. The anime even features unique color named locations such as Wisteria Town and Matcha City.

Theoretically speaking, if you could have a Pokemon on your team that was all 18 different types simultaneously, what would it be weak against?

pokemon types

Rock. With all 18 types, you would have 8 immunities and 9 resistances. However, rock type attacks would still be super effective against you.

How did you get on?

I think whilst still hard, this quiz is doable if you are a die-hard Pokemon fan. For myself, when putting together these questions, I couldn’t remember the answers for questions 9 and 10. Be sure to let us know in the comments what you scored. We’ve love to know!

If you are a celebrity’s fan and know their word, we have survey about them. Take a look.
