The Last of Us Part 1 will come to PC ‘very soon’ after PS5

Last month Sony unveiled The Last of Us Part 1. It is a remake of the original The Last of Us that is coming to PlayStation 5 on September 2. However, when the announcement dropped there was no details regarding the PC version’s release date. But we now know that The Last of Us Part 1 will come to PC soon after the PS5 version’s launch.

Developer Naughty Dog’s senior environment texture artist Jon Benainous took to Twitter to provide fans with some good news. A fan named Charble stated how excited they are for the PC version. Benainous responded by saying “Glad to hear you’re hyped man! PC version should come out a bit later, but very soon after the PS5 release”.

With Benainous being an employee at Naughty Dog his word is about as reliable as it gets. We have no reason to doubt him but this news is somewhat surprising. When it comes to porting exclusives to PC Sony has begun to open up to the idea but its hesitation to do is obvious. Unlike The Last of Us Part 1 other PlayStation exclusives such as Beyond Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human took years to come to PC.

Plus, other recent PlayStation exclusives have shown no sign that they are coming to PC at all. Take Gran Turismo 7 for instance, which is strictly a PlayStation exclusive. It may be ported to PC in the future but Sony has given us no reason to assume so.

When is ‘very soon’?

It’s great to hear that the PC port of The Last of Us Part 1 will come “very soon,” but what does that mean? Without an official release date, it’s difficult to say but we can take a reasonable guess. If the PlayStation 5 version is coming out in September, the PC version should arrive before the end of 2022.

Gran Turismo 7 has been offline and unplayable for over 24 hours

gran turismo 7 servers offline

Gran Turismo 7 launched two weeks ago and the consensus is that it’s a good game. In many aspects, fans consider it a return to form following the less-than-ideal GT5 and GT6. However, it isn’t perfect by any means. A recent update has backfired causing Gran Turismo 7 to stay offline for over 24 hours.

The offending patch was Update 1.07 which was supposed to be a routine balancing patch. But an oversight in it has forced developer Polyphony Digital to perform maintenance. That maintenance period has now passed 24 hours meaning that paying customers have had to go a whole day without access to their game.

To make matter worse, the patch that caused Gran Turismo 7 to go offline was already controversial. It aims to nerf various methods of making credits causing the racing game to be even grindier than it started.

Technically, Gran Turismo has always been a grindy franchise so this may not seem too bad. Unfortunately, the developer’s motive for implementing this change is not to increase GT7’s difficulty. Instead, it was done to tempt players into buying microtransactions. Gran Turismo 7 offers all kinds of microtransactions that can help a player skip some of the grind. By making the grind less enjoyable the developer is hoping that more players will pay up to save time.

A workaround

Technically, it is still possible to play Gran Turismo 7 in offline mode. By disconnecting your PS4 or PS5 and then booting the game it will still launch. Although the experience awaiting you is probably not what you were hoping for.

Loading and processing time can be very long in offline mode. Equally, certain game modes and gameplay functionality are disabled when not connected to the internet. It’s better than nothing but players are hardly going to be happy with this makeshift solution.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction | PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X

TOM CLANCYs RAINBOW SIX EXTRACTION

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is an upcoming tactical shooter game by Ubisoft. It is a cooperative multiplayer game based on Rainbow Six Siege (2015) in which players have to work together to kill Archaeans, parasite-like aliens. On January 20, 2022, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction will be available for players on Microsoft Windows, PS4, PS5, Google Stadia, Amazon Luna, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S.

Extraction is a three-player cooperative multiplayer game. Infiltrating an alien-infested place has to be done by operators. They also have to perform goals, including gaining intel, collecting samples, and removing resources from computers. The enemy placement and the locations of the goals are created procedurally. If the enemy takes down an operator, they will become missing in action, and players will not be able to play as them until they are retrieved.

Players can pick operators from a pool of 18 operators. And each operator has their own set of weapons and gadgets. Pulse possesses a heartbeat sensor that allows him to see enemies far across the barriers. At the same time, Alibi has the power to confuse the enemies with a holographic decoy. In order to succeed in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, players have to collaborate and cooperate with one another. A ping system in the game allows the players to reveal hostile danger and resource locations to other players.

There are unusual varieties of the regular variants, like the rooters, who may slow the player down, and spikers, who can shoot sharp missiles from their bodies. Extraction moves at a slower speed than other cooperative multiplayer games. The players would not regenerate with this health, and resources and ammo are rare.

Rainbow Six Extraction is a spin-off by Ubisoft Montreal’s Rainbow Six Siege, released in 2015. According to Jason Schreier, the Extraction came from a project called Pioneer, first teased in Watch Dogs 2. The game is based on the 2018 Siege time-limited game mode Outbreak, in which players have to fight the hostile aliens in New Mexico. Extraction was designed to be a fun experience for those who do not want to play a multiplayer video game with other people. The developers hoped that making Siege characters available in Extraction would attract Siege players to the game and make Extraction a useful entry point for new players.

Extraction is a first-person shooter that combines the features of Rainbow Six with a horde mode shooter. This game also focuses on the objectives and surviving the encounters with the aliens, rather than employing firearms to shoot down enemies like in most other games. The developers thought that instead of being “entrenched and shooting and mow down hundreds of enemies,” the characters in the game should ambush the enemies.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine was the initial title for the game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, which was intended to be released in 2020 for Windows, Xbox One, and PS4. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the game was delayed twice because of development issues. It was again postponed from July until January 20, 2022.

Hitman 3 Final Chapter: Mark January 2021 On Your Calendars

Hitman 3

We got introduced to the secret world of assassins in the first Hitman games, which also gained screen treatment through the movie of the same title. Timothy Olyphant was superb in his portrayal of the nameless assassin, well backed up by the seemingly helpless damsel in distress character of Olga Kurylenko. In the gaming universe, the story of Agent 47 comes full circle, as Hitman 3 is set to arrive in January 2021.

Last Patch Arriving for Hitman 2

In a report dated November 2019, the series’ predecessor — Hitman 2 — received its final patch on the November update. That was some months ago. Since then, Hitman 3 has been the focus of the developers. It is also a confirmation of what IO said was a ‘trilogy’ of games that followed Agent 47’s travel.

At this point, Hitman 3 will be launching after the arrival of next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. During the time the last few major patches for Hitman 2 were released, it was still in development — or the middle of development, as it appears. The speculations look correct, as it would be released in early 2021.

Agent 47 Comes Full Circle

The journey that Agent 47 started in the first Hitman outing will finally conclude in Hitman 3. Here, the world of assassination will once again welcome the enigmatic assassin. As always, the stakes are high, and 47’s contracts are never simple. It will take him around the world, always looking dapper and dashing in his preferred suit.

This time, Agent 47 has an extra hand from his agency handler, Diana Burnwood, as well as his long-lost friend, Lucas Grey. Their mission will be to eliminate the partners of Providence, but — as with all games in the genre — things turn sour on the way to their prey. Agent 47 will be thrust into unfamiliar territory and find himself trying to adjust as the situation develops.

Watch The World Come Alive

The locations in the Hitman saga have always been luxurious. Some have also been exotic and packed with high-stakes action. You take control of Agent 47 as he tries to explore these masterfully rendered locations and follow clues and pointers toward where the Agent must eliminate targets. Part of the fun is in the planning and execution of these assassinations. You can choose to disguise yourself or create little accidents, no matter how you see it fit.

It is in attention to these details that the game is truly appreciated. Blend in with the crowds, anonymous, and watch your plan unfold. You could also interact with other characters on the path to your ultimate goal. From these decisions, you could watch your plan unfold in glorious 4k – or see it burn down to the ground. You can also watch as the world reacts to everything you do, thanks to the award-winning Glacier technology by IO.

The Finale Comes After A Long Wait

Long-time fans of the franchise will get a feeling of delight in knowing that they can choose whichever way they want to play the assassin — sleek and sophisticated or bumbling and clumsy. Exploration and interaction are huge parts of this gameplay, rewarding players who have that extra streak of curiosity and insight in succeeding re-plays of the game. The game rewards players who immerse themselves in the world of assassination.

Players will also find it fascinating that the series allows for continuation, even from other games. Hitman 3 will allow those who have played and finished Hitman 2 to carry over their character progression as well as discover locations in the game. With the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X boasting playability from the very first games in their series, the upcoming game will be able to receive content from the very first game up to the second.

IO Interactive will develop the last game in the franchise. The developers felt it was a natural choice for Hitman 3 to come directly from them to the players who have followed Agent 47 from the start. They also stated that they felt ready for the challenge and will look forward to completing the journey with the players and the entire community alongside them.

The game’s launch is in January 2021 for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC. In the meantime, there are other free PC games available for players who can’t wait to put their trigger finger to the test.
