Konami just dropped a bombshell during Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live: a haunting story trailer for Silent Hill f that teases fresh psychological terror—and it introduces the Fox Mask, a character so chilling I had to rewind twice.
Rather than the familiar streets of American Silent Hill, we’re in Japan this time, tagging along with high schooler Hinako Shimizu as her town dissolves into a fog-laden nightmare.
Personally, I’m thrilled by the shift in setting—there’s something unsettling about seeing everyday cassette players and school hallways become instruments of fear.
Meet the Voices Behind the Fear
Alongside the trailer, Konami unveiled the full English voice cast, and it’s a blend of stellar veterans and intriguing newcomers. Here’s who will be breathing life—and dread—into these characters:
- Suzie Yeung as Hinako Shimizu. You might recognize her from slinging ninja stars as Yuffie in Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth or her icy Eula in Genshin Impact.
- Nicholas Leung as Iwai Shu. The familiar tones of Dan Heng from Honkai: Star Rail make me confident he can handle the emotional twists here.
- Frankie Kevich as Nishida Rinko. Best known as Conduit in Apex Legends, Kevich’s performance could easily flip from steely resolve to panic-stricken screams.
- Courtney Lin as Igarashi Sakuko. The new voice of Princess Peach in Mario Kart World proves she’s no stranger to expressiveness—expect Sakuko to feel distinctly human.
- Caleb Yen as the Fox Mask. With credits in Metaphor: ReFantazio and Triangle Strategy, Yen’s resume suggests he’ll nail that cryptic menace.
There’s a curious magic in hearing a familiar voice in an unfamiliar—and downright eerie—scenario, don’t you think?
Why This Cast Matters
Silent Hill relies on atmosphere, tension, and the subtle tremor in a character’s line delivery. Having actors who’ve thrived in RPGs and competitive shooters is great. It means they know how to sell both quiet dread and explosive moments.
I’m betting Suzie Yeung’s nuanced phrasing will make Hinako’s fear feel painfully real.
Silent Hill f launches September 25 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows. Deluxe or Standard, it’s available for pre-order now—because the only thing better than horror is horror you’ve paid to be terrified by.
