It’s been a long wait for series veterans, and with October creeping up, you’re probably wondering: can you jump in early? Unfortunately, the answer is a firm no. Regardless of which edition you snag, everyone will face Ryu Hayabusa’s relentless challenges for the first time on October 21. No sneak peeks. No three-day head start. Just a simultaneous worldwide release—and yes, that might sting if you’ve been pacing the floor for a preview.
No Early Access, But the Pricing & Game Pass Perks
If you’re not on Xbox Game Pass, the standard edition comes in at $69.99. The deluxe edition ticks up to $89.99, packing in extra skins, in-game currency, and some nifty items—though none of that grants early access. Personally, I find it a missed opportunity: why not reward the most eager fans with a teaser window? Still, if you’re already subscribed to Game Pass, you’ll jump in on launch day without an extra cent, which eases the sting.
Hesitations & Hope
Is the price too steep? Maybe. Will the game live up to its storied legacy? That’s the hope. We’ve seen Ninja Gaiden games dish out brutal difficulty and exquisite combat before—so I’m holding out faith that this entry will deliver on both fronts. It’s just that subtle itch for early play… you’ll have to tough it out until release.
DLC on the Horizon: The Two Masters
Looking past launch, Team Ninja has teased a story DLC called The Two Masters, set to arrive sometime in 2026. We don’t have all the details yet, but new weapons for Ryu are on deck. If you pony up for that deluxe edition now, you’ll automatically own The Two Masters once it arrives. No word on standalone pricing yet, so if you start on the standard edition (or jump in via Game Pass), keep an eye out: you can still upgrade later without rebuying the entire game.
