Gears of War: Ultimate Edition was announced at E3 2015, along with a teaser for a brand new installment in the series in the form of Gears of War 4.
In celebration of this, hardcore Gears fans at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 got the opportunity to meet the team behind the upcoming remastering, The Collection, as well as getting their currents Gears of War tattoos remastered by Steve Soto, a renowned tattoo artist hailing from Orange County California. One girl also got some Gears of War 4-inspired body art.
The Gears of War franchise began back in November 2006 for the Xbox 360. It defined HD gaming for a generation, seeing its last numbered installment in 2011 with Gears of War 3. 2013 saw the release of Gears of War: Judgement, which took a more arcade-style, score-focused approach to the established Gears formula, with a prequel story to boot.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is a true remastering of the original Gears of War, offering re-done cutscenes, updated graphical fidelity, 60 FPS gameplay and more. It will hit shelves on 25th August exclusively for Xbox One, with Gears of War 4 expected to land in December 2016.
