Microsoft are tugging at the nostalgic heartstrings of long-time Gears fans with the official launch trailer for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, the current-gen remastering of the game that started it all back in ‘06 on the then next-gen Xbox 360.
The new trailer showcases just how much work has been put in to bring the original Gears of War into 2015 and up to current-gen standards, both graphically and with some modern tweaks to the gameplay, more in line with recent instalments in the series.

The original Mad World Trailer for 2006’s Gears of War has become iconic and is one of the most recognisable video game trailers, which showcased the dreary reality of the Gears universe in the most depressingly beautiful light possible as Gary Jules’s Mad World plays in the background.
It’s a big trip down memory lane. We’re glad they brought it back for the remaster.
