Chicken Run: Eggstraction puts you in charge of a ragged squad of chickens on a rescue mission. It’s a top-down action-stealth co-op from Aardman and Outright Games, and yes, it follows Dawn of the Nugget’s story threads while adding fresh mischief. You’ll pick familiar faces — Molly, Rocky, Ginger, Frizzle — each with strange gadgets and small, game-changing traits. Bella Ramsey and Josie Sedgwick-Davies return to their roles, which feels comforting and fun.
Missions send you into five fortified farms bristling with CCTV, bumbling guards, traps, and the occasional pratfall. Stealth here isn’t grim; it’s broad slapstick — hide in bins, don a traffic cone, or sprint like your tailfeathers depend on it. Two-player local split-screen makes coordination joyful and chaotic. Puzzle moments land nicely between tense sneaks and frantic escapes.
Aardman’s claylike visuals sell the stop-motion look without being precious; it’s charming, expressive, and actually playful. I’m optimistic this will be a great pick for families and friends who want a cooperative caper with heart and gags. Will it surprise you? Maybe. Will it make you laugh while sneaking past a guard? Almost certainly.
