Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 should hit PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on November 14, 2025. While the beta windows have closed, the game’s developer, Treyarch, has been listening intently to the community feedback.
The Early Access and Open Beta periods were a huge success, offering a first-ever look at Zombies in a Call of Duty beta and showcasing the highly praised Omnimovement system—which allows for incredibly fluid player movement, including tactical wall-jumping. The community reaction has been largely positive, but a beta’s purpose is to surface pain points, and players were not shy about sharing their wish list.
Based on the mountain of data and direct feedback, Treyarch has confirmed several major, player-driven changes that will be implemented for the full November 14 launch. Get an early look at how your feedback has directly shaped the final game.
Community-Requested Overhauls
- Open Matchmaking by Default: This was the community’s biggest ask. Due to the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the “Open Moshpit” playlist in the beta, Treyarch is making Open Matchmaking with minimal skill consideration the default experience for Black Ops 7 Multiplayer at launch. This means a more varied match-to-match experience that many players have been requesting for years.
- Persistent Lobbies Are Back: Good news for all you squad-ups! Treyarch confirmed their focused on keeping players together from match to match and will have persistent lobbies at launch. No more jumping back into the main menu after every round—keep the party and the rivalries going!
- Anti-Cheat Performance: The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat™ system showed strong results during the testing period, with the developers reporting that nearly 99% of matches were cheater-free by the end of the beta. The team is unleashing its full suite of detections for the launch to ensure a level playing field for all.
- Aim Assist Tuning: To ensure a fair and competitive balance across all input devices, the developers are prioritizing and implementing changes to aim assist on the controller ahead of launch.
Post-Beta Fixes and Improvements
The team has also confirmed several quality-of-life improvements that they made directly based on feedback gathered during the week of testing:
- Progression Boost: Weapon XP earn rates for both Multiplayer and Zombies were increased, and the earn rate for certain Scorestreaks and Field Upgrades was also boosted, making your time in-game feel more rewarding.
- Map Tweaks: Maps like The Forge and Cortex received geometry updates, including permanently opening several doors to improve flow and reducing the time automatic doors take to open, directly addressing player movement frustration.
The commitment to implementing these major changes shows that player voices are making a huge difference in the final product. Black Ops 7 is shaping up to be a true community effort when it arrives in full—and we want to hear your battle plans for launch day.
