Dead Island 2 Announced

Island

In addition to Dying Light, Deep Silver revealed during the Sony Conference that Dead Island 2 is also coming to PS4. The game will get a Sony exclusive class as well.

The trailer didn’t show much in the way of showing gameplay, but it did let us in on the tone of the game.  The trailer was goofy, and displayed a sense of humor that wasn’t present in the original game. Dead Island’s visceral gameplay and moment to moment mechanics are presumable returning, while vehicles are all but confirmed for the trailer.

Far Cry 4 Gameplay at Sony Press Conference

After this mornings tense teaser during Ubisoft press conference, Far Cry 4 got a more hands on approach during Sony’s. The gameplay saw our still unnamed protagonist climb a mountain, take out some troops (both stealthily and and not so stealthily). Then he wingsuited away, and was joined by a second player. Throughout the gameplay we saw the hunting, shooting, sneaking and traversal of Far Cry 3, but bigger quicker and with a friends. At the end of the trailer, Playstation revealed that if you buy the game on their console, then you can invite a friend who DOESN’T own the game and they can play with you. Check out the trailer below, and check back soon for more analysis later.

New The Order: 1886 Gameplay

Gameplay

The Order: 1886 is Sony’s premier third person shooter this gen, so it’s no surprise that they would get rolling with some new gameplay.

For the first time we get a good look at the monsters, and how they move and interact with the player as well. We get a better look at the UI than ever before, along with a look at what type of game there will be beyond shooting.

New Destiny Trailer and Gameplay

Destiny

Sony kicked off it’s Playstation E3 press conference with Destiny – and for all the right reasons.

Activision’s gigantic new FPS franchise started off with a trailer that blended both cinematic and gameplay footage, and showed in more detail a lot of the mechanics they have already talked about. It showed the vastness of the game and shared a bit about it’s combat. It was then announced that the Games Beta would come to Playstation games starting July 17th. There will be exclusive in-game missions, and a PS4 + Destiny Bundle as well.

Ubisoft Reveals Rainbow Six: Seige

Digital

Rainbow Six

Ubisoft closed their press conference this year with a re-branded Rainbow Six. Rainbow Six: Siege so far features two teams of five going against each other in a fight over a hostage. After two years since any word from Rainbow Six: Patriots, the new game direction comes as a surprise.

The way players talk during the trailer makes it seem like the game may only feature one map, and with five player teams it immediately draws MOBA comparisons. But the game also borrows from other genre’s, allowing players to board up windows and doors, shoot through cover and plan out entry and exit tactics. The brief match showed what a tactically minded team could accomplish, and kept the series signature difficulty and zero room for errors.

Watch the trailer below, and come back soon for our analysis.

New Assassin’s Creed Unity CG Trailer and Gameplay

Assassin’s

Every year’s Assassin’s Creed game gets a fantastic Cg trailer, and Unity is no exception. This year’s trailer features the four assassins we saw earlier today at Microsoft’s presser, again helping the revolutionaries get an aristocrat. They also announced that the game’s base progression will be different. A mission was demonstrated where a target was given, and instead of being locked into that objective the player walked away, preferring to take the target at a different time. Wile he strolled the streets the assassin picked up side quests, explored buildings and searched for more info on the target.

The gameplay showed some new traversal mechanics, like jumping from the series high vantage points to poles on a building and swinging off of them. After finally tracking down his target, the assassin took time in determining his approach, maneuvering around and above his location to see which best suited his intended strike. They also announced that the game’s base progression will be different. A mission was demonstrated where a target was given, and instead of being locked into that objective the player walked away, preferring to take the target at a different time. Wile he strolled the streets the assassin picked up side quests, explored buildings and searched for more info on the target. After striking down his target and facing a wall of guards, the player is backed up yet again by his three friends. The demo ends, and it feels to me like Assassin’s Creed is trying to return to it’s roots. Be the judge yourself, and check the gameplay and trailer below.

More Tom Clancy’s: The Division Gameplay

Division

After The Division’s gameplay trailer earlier today at the Microsoft media briefing, the game reappeared at Ubisoft’s briefing. This trailer focused more on the story side of things. It began with a time lapsed video sweeping through New York and went on to detail the games character. Beforehand, developers detailed that the player is a member of ‘The Division’, a group of sleeper agents who were activated to track down the global pandemic’s origin.

You play right after they are activated, approximately three weeks after the outbreak. As expected the world looks gorgeous and tragic as the disease has taken it’s toll on the city. The newly revealed story sounds like an interesting hook and I’m excited to hear more. Check it out below to see it for yourself:

Battlefield: Hardline Gameplay and Release Date

Battlefield

EA and Visceral talked today about this years Battlefield entry. In the first yearly Battlefield entry, players will be taking the place of both Police and Criminals as they try to plan and foil heists.

The team showed off a 32 multiplayer match in which the criminals took down a few armored vans. The action escalated when police arrived and at the scene and an intense battle began. The traditional Battlefield experience took over from there, as helicopters, cars, bikes and mobile arsenals began to run together.

In the later parts of the match new features began to become clear, like gas trucks that act like mobile bombs and some new tools for users. Check below for the full match, and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

New Mirror’s Edge 2 Info

Mirror’s

Mirror’s Edge 2 just got a whole lot more interesting! While before we were grasping at straws for any understanding of what the game was, we now know a lot more as to where it is headed.

The new developer-focused trailer showed off how Mirror’s Edge 2 is being made. From adding a suite of real parkour moves to the past games move set, the new entry should feel just like the last except with even smoother movement. The trailer shows off how combat will now be a puzzle, with pathways to knock everyone out quickly and efficiently. The games signature white, black and red aesthetic returns as well, along with the first games themes and message.

The game still looks a far way off, but exciting none the less. Check out the trailer yourself below:
