Sony announced via Playstation Experience that The Forest, a terrifying game of struggle and survival, will be coming to the Playstation 4.
Though no release date has been given, Sony was gracious enough to drop a spooky announcement trailer for those willing to have their pants torn off in fear.
You have been warned!
If you are a frequent visitor of VGamerz, you might recall an article I did on why you should play The Forest. After delving into the early access on Steam, I stand by what I said. It is both ambitious and unsettling, even if it’s not always for the right reasons.
I only hope that on the PS4, It will receive all of the updates and continue to expand as a game, as it is still in development.
Housemarque, responsible for the masterpiece Resogun, has announced it’s newest title at this years Gamescom. Alienation takes players on a co-op adventure in the vain of Dead Nation, but with Aliens … You get it?
What separates the two apart beyond the setting, is the new ‘help your team’ or ‘go rogue’ options it seems to present. This could mix up the gameplay quite a bit, creating an entirely new set of rules for how a game like Dead Nation would’ve been played.
Here is the trailer in its entirety for your viewing pleasure.
I enjoyed Dead Nation, though I felt it didn’t really have enough character or staying power to offer up a rich experience I’d go back to. In other words, it wasn’t Resogun or Super Stardust HD.

Alienation, I hope, will break the mold of Dead Nation and offer us PS4 veterans a chance for some jolly cooperation, or personal gain via betrayal.
Bloodborne tickled everybody with its impressive CGI showing at this year’s E3. It perfectly captured the type of atmosphere, dread, and grotesque nature of Miyazaki’s vision, but it lacked something. It lacked gameplay.
Mere days after E3, Katana of Youtube has leaked the first gameplay trailer of Bloodborne. It uses images found in the previous leak but this time, it remains intact and in HD for your viewing pleasure. Check out the trailer below:
After a bit more digging, a few details came to light by the way of the Dark Souls subreddit.
Here are some the major differences to the Souls games mentioned by Patrick Klepek at Giant Bomb’s E3 Show LIVE:
No Heavy Armor
There will be a shotgun in the offhand slot that serves to stagger enemies.
More enemies to face at a time (up to 8-9)
A dash/sidestep alongside the roll.
A one hit attack to staggered opponents, similar to the backstab, except executable anywhere on the enemy.
ENEMY PLACEMENTS ARE RANDOM; when the bell rings, enemies will roam and scatter to other places.
BOSS PLACEMENTS ARE RANDOM (you will get locked into an area with soul gates upon the encounter.)
There will be weapons that have two modes, like the “flip scythe” seen in the reveal trailer.
What could possibly be better than seeing an excellent new game at E3? Having it release as you are seeing it announced. Entwined, the first project by Pixel Opus has been revealed and released tonight, and it looks fascinating and gorgeous.
“Experience a tale about a bird and a fish that are in love but can never be together. Guide them both simultaneously over the course of nine unique lifetimes on a journey to unite their souls.”
Check out the first Entwined trailer below:
Using a method similar to Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons for controlling the bird and fish, we should have a lot of finger confusion mixed with delight while playing Entwined. Here’s to hoping it’s as good as it looks.
With rumours and leaks of Project Beast teasing the internet for weeks, it was no surprise that something would be mentioned at E3. What nobody expected, was that Project Beast is its own entity, separate from the Souls universe. Bloodborne, FromSoftware’s next project, will release on the Playstation 4 in 2015, and does it ever look great!
The most noteworthy thing to come from this news is that Hidetaka Miyazaki, FromSoftware’s new president, is the director of Bloodborne. He is as talented as he is worshipped in this industry, and it can only mean great things for Bloodborneto have him at the helm.

From Software’s upcoming Project Beast, rumoured to be a Playstation 4 exclusive, has had its first gameplay leaked this fine evening. Though this seems reminiscent of the first screenshots that were shown, this is high quality, and comes in video format. The images prior to this didn’t really do the game much justice, but praise the sun, as this is looking like it will be a gorgeous game.
Though the youtube link is nice, a higher quality version can be found here. I’d definitely recommend hitting it up if you want the ultimate viewing experience.
I can’t even express my excitement for this game.Dark Souls II was a fantastic experience, and I am hardly able to wait until E3’s hopeful showing of Project Beast.
The “console exclusive” battle this generation will be extremely interesting to watch because the console that has the most AND best exclusives has the biggest chances of becoming the winner of the current gen. The PlayStation 4 seems to have an unexpected trick up their sleeve with the interactive thriller Without Memory.
So why “unexpected”? Well, because this game is developed by the virtually unknown Russian studio Dinosaurum Games, and it’s not in the genre you would expect to draw in a lot of attention. It’s not a shooter, it’s not an RPG… it’s not even Flappy Bird! It’s an interactive thriller, which makes us think of revolutionary adventure gaming or at least a visual delight.
And a visual delight we’ll get for sure, as the concept art for Without Memory already looks amazing. And knowing that the game will run on the Unreal Engine 4 makes us be pretty sure that it will deliver the eye candy.
There will definitely be multiple choice for the player to make throughout their adventure, and each choice will influence the direction of the story and hopefully we’ll have some smart writing and difficult decisions to make (think Telltale’s The Walking Dead series). The game also promises “tens of endings” and world class quality. I’m really eager to find out more about this!
Without Memory will be released as a PS4 exclusive sometime in 2016 and actual in-game screenshots are promised to arrive this summer. Until then, you can check out some of the amazing artwork from the game:
Apparently, an upcoming episode from the popular comedy Big Bang Theory has Sheldon faced with a huge dilemma: which console to choose between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. And by the look on Amy’s face in the image provided, it has been debating all the pros and cons for a long time.
Choices aside (I personally think that somehow Sheldon will end up getting the Wii U to please his girlfriend, or something like that), it’s nice to see that Microsoft took advantage of the moment to tweet about this and maybe get a small advantage over their competitors:
Sony didn’t care too much about this and have remained silent. Maybe they’re not Big Bang Theory fans or maybe they were celebrating the fact that Sheldon actually picked the PS4. We’ll know for sure what happens when the episode airs – and it’s coming soon!
What about you? What console do you think Sheldon will choose?
