RUMOR ALERT: Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls VI Project on the Horizon?

Bethesda's Elder Scrolls VI Project

Has The Time Come for The Next Chapter in Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls Franchise?

It’s 2017 already. Thus, marks the beginning of year 6 since the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been released. Although, sure…you can argue and say the October 2016 release of the remastered version of Skyrim for the next-gen consoles and PC counts. But, it’s not the release we really were excited for. Bethesda for the most part have been hush-hush on opening coming out and saying the Elder Scrolls VI project is in the works. But, just because they haven’t said it doesn’t mean they haven’t been hard at work on it.

It’s clear that Bethesda doesn’t need to follow the popular trends to be successful. They’ve paved their own path to success and it continues to work well in their favor. They’re never in a rush to release sequels to popular games. Unlike, some other companies. I’ll leave names out of it but they know who you are (Hint…Call of Duty).

Bethesda aims to please. They strive to create the best possible game no matter the time is takes to do it. Just look at the gaps in years between sequels of some of their games; Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim took 5 years. Dishonored to Dishonored 2 took 4 years. Fallout 3 to Fallout 4 took 7 years. Shall I go on?

Time means very little to the developers at Bethesda. However, is anyone complaining? The results speak for themselves. ($750 million in sales for one day during the release of Fallout 4)

Official Unofficial Hints

Being completely direct, in an IGN interviews with Studio Head Todd Howard after 2016’s E3 conference, Howard said that Bethesda will be making a new Elder Scrolls game. I know—lets the cheers rain down!

However, that’s about all that has been official when talking about the next instalment of the Elder Scrolls franchise. Howard never said Bethesda was currently working on the game current though. Which, for a lot of us sounds like more waiting. Sadly, that’s the truth. But just how far away are we from getting our next fix of the Elder Scrolls?

The Waiting Game

It’s safe to say that none of us shall expect another Elder Scrolls game in the next couple of years. Studio Head of Bethesda, Todd Howard, has said that the Elder Scrolls VI development is “very long off” from any kind of release. As you may already know, the Elder Scrolls huge world design is not a simple feat to accomplish. Especially now that the next-gen consoles have introduced the stunning 4K formatting.

Bethesda has stated after Dishonored 2 dropped in late 2016, that they’re working on 2 huge projects that much like the size of Skyrim and Fallout 4. These 2 games will  be released before the Elder Scrolls VI project will be.

If Skyrim was any indication of how advanced Bethesda is looking to expand and improve-on means, we could be getting next-level pioneering in effects and gameplay as a result! You know…when it does come out.

The Conclusion

As for me, all I can say is it’s going to be a journey to its release. I don’t expect to TES6 to be released until 2019 at the earliest. Maybe at 2017’s or 2018’s E3 Conference we’ll finally be told much more about the future of Elder Scrolls VI. Until then, keep playing gamers.

Horizon Zero Dawn: Coming Soon to PS4

Horizon Zero Dawn game

In just six weeks, Horizon Zero Dawn finally releases exclusively for the PS4. While it has a fairly awkward name, the game itself brings you on an incredible journey that you won’t soon forget. This third person shooter takes you into a post-apocalyptic land that’s now home to many unique, robotic creatures. Instead of expecting the usual bipedal robots we’re used to, now it’s a four-legged (and well, other amounts of legs) creatures that you’ll be hunting for. Watch out for robotic dinosaurs, birds and much more. You’ll be hunting these creatures for survival, and even using their own mechanical body parts against them.

The gameplay is open-world, and you’ll be spending all your time exploring that world as well. You play as Aloy, a young girl in charge of searching out the lands and uncovering its secrets. You must hunt these strange creatures, and you’ll have a range of weapons at your disposal including traps, bombs and much more. Since it’s open-world, you’ll have plenty of time to amass your weapon stash as you’re completing missions and side quests.

Fight Robotic Creatures

A robotic world waiting to be discovered.
A robotic world waiting to be discovered.

There will be many strange creatures you encounter, and they’re all mechanical at this point in world. They were not always hostile though, as a strange virus has been spreading over the robotic creatures and turning them to the dark side. Not only can you fight them, you can hack them as well if you manage to. You can turn some of them into mounts, or perhaps even hack them into friendship. Who wouldn’t love a mountain-sized robotic dinosaur best friend?

As you progress in the storyline, you’ll be searching for the answer as to why these robotic creatures now dominate the land, and how they got that way in the first place. The world used to be as we know it now, but something terrible happened along the way. Shunned by her tribe of indigenous humans that stayed on earth while the rest left, Aloy on her way to find her destiny and using her amazing huntress skills to help her out. Let’s hope you’re a good shot with a bow, you’ll have to channel your inner Legolas to take down these titan-sized beasts. You’ll have to come up with different strategies for all the cunning AI you’ll be fighting against. Use all of Aloy’s wit and skills to defeat the creatures in her way and hunt out her destiny.

Prehistoric Pandemonium – ARK: Surival Evolved

ARK: Surival Evolved

Fleeing from a hungry T-Rex, taming dinos of all shapes and sizes, bringing down prehistoric beasts with a ton of spears. All of these dino antics become possible in indie developer, Studio Wildcard’s online multiplayer game – ARK: Survival Evolved.

Demand For Dinosaurs

At this particular moment in time we can see the gaming market is lacking anything ‘dinosaur’. With the growing demand for dinos growing thanks to the upcoming release of, Jurassic world, it becomes apparent that developers of ARK: Survival Evolved, Studio Wildcard have indeed made a wise decision to taunt gamers with a prehistoric orientated genre of game. With little competition to steal their sales it seems that already, this game could be a huge success. With the social aspect to gaming constantly growing it is more than convenient that this online multiplayer game or MMO is going to be thrown into the works in time to come. With all things taken into consideration, you could say that, Studio Wildcard have struck gold, or the remains of a fully intact dinosaur skeleton, if you’ll accept the poor analogy.

Prehistoric Pandemonium 1

Dino-Deranged

Although exceptionally obvious, it is probably worth noting that from the announcement trailer above, Studio Wildcard have already earned themselves a pat on the back. The very beginning of the trailer sets the initial tone for the game, intensity. Sprinting from the primitive nashers of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, does well to lay the grounds for such an atmosphere. Furthermore, the player is already presented with a stretching span of  ventures to indulge in. The ability to tame dinosaurs is probably the most profound aspect displayed throughout the trailer. The player can dominate the skies upon a Terrasaur, ride the heavily armoured back of a Stegosaurus or even command an aquatic dinosaur for a stroll along the sandy beaches. Not to mention the journey upon the back of an unusually large scorpion, cringe. As the engrossing gameplay within the announcement trailer continues, we can see these beasts being hunted and taken down by barbaric weaponry such as tomahawks, spears and even a bow and arrow. To top off the content within the trailer, Studio Wildcard have also developed a beautiful and vibrant setting for players to explore. ARK: Survival Evolved appears to be set on an island of some kind, alive in tropical flora. Scattered throughout the island appear to be native settlements and the entire island as a whole surrounded by vast ocean. It is highly possible that a lot of the enjoyment players will get from this very intriguing game, could be derived from exploring it’s potential open-world setting.

Prehistoric Pandemonium 2

As If Dinosaurs Weren’t Enough…

One of the most fascinating parts of the announcement trailer for, ARK: Survival Evolved was towards the end in which a dragon could be seen setting everything ablaze with it’s fiery breath. Could this be some insight into the potential involvement of some other mythical beasts? I mean we do also get the pleasure of watching some Dodos make haste before the player hunting it. With the surprise of the dragon and with plenty to do already, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if, Studio Wildcard had more surprises in store for us to unveil at a later date.

Prehistoric Pandemonium 3

The Waiting Game

With such exciting gameplay footage released in the announcement trailer, ARK: Surivival Evolved is going to be one to watch over the upcoming months. It would be unreasonable to put it past, Studio Wildcard not to add to the list of content within this incredibly appealing game. The time of the dinosaurs has quite clearly returned in the form of ARK: Survival Evolved.

New Crackdown in the Works

Crackdown

Platinum Games is developing a new entry into the Crackdown series. The game will debut exclusively on the Xbox One.

The reveal trailer showed 2 players teaming up to take down a crime lord. If it resembles Crackdowns of old, expect a co-op game flush with content. In other words, a really nice experience that fans of the genre and the Crackdown franchise will surely enjoy.
