How to Resurrect a Sim in The Sims 4

Sims 4

We have already talked about ways to die in The Sims 4, but maybe now you are in a better mood and you might want to resurrect a Sim in The Sims 4. Fortunately, this can be done without cheating or breaking any rules and we have in this article the short tutorial on how to revive or resurrect a Sim in The Sims 4.

In order to be able to resurrect a Sim in the game and basically have full control over their life, you need to become an expert writer. Here’s the step by step guide for the entire process:

– Practice your Writing Skill until you reach Level 10
– Complete the Aspiration “Bestselling Author”
– Write “The Book of Life” on the Computer

Now, after the book is complete, you need to go near a Sim you want to Resurrect in the future. Simply go near that Sim and use the “Capture Epic Saga…” option by clicking the book. That nearby Sim will be “collected” in the book and after he or she dies, you can use the “Summon” interaction with the book to bring that Sim back to life.

In order to make sure that this works as planned, make sure that there’s just one single Sim near you when you use the “Capture” interaction (the Sim you plan to resurrect in the future) and, of course, make sure you do this before the Sim you want to bring back from the dead goes to the other side.

Nice fun way to keep your favorite Sim alive, right?

The Sims 4 Guide: 8 Ways to Die

Sims 4

Death is part of life itself and as in the previous games, The Sims 4 features a series of different ways to die. Drowning is the only traditional way to die that has been removed since there’s currently no swim pools in game, however all the other ways are still available. There’s also three new ways to die originated from the new dynamic emotion system. If you’re looking for different ways to kill your sims, then keep reading.

1. Starvation

The basics of life are always present in The Sims, which makes it no surprise that eating is essential to keep your sims alive. Food restriction for too long will lead your sims into imminent death.

How to trigger this death: Abstain from eating for several days.

 2. Old Age

No one lives forever and there’s nothing more full-filing than living a complete long life. In The Sims 4, players can live properly during their elderly phase but eventually their body will give up and natural death will occur.

How to trigger this death: Live a healthy life until the end of your elder days.

3. Fire

Being cautious in the kitchen will mostly avoid this type of death but it can always happen, especially if your sims is not experienced enough in culinary methods. When you’re caught by a fire and you’re unable to extinguish it in time, your sims will be consumed by the flames.

How to trigger this death: Start a fire and let the flames get close. A good way to trigger a fire is to use a cheap oven and an inexperienced cooker.

4. Electrocution

Another death path that has been featured in all Sims games is the electrocution. This is not an easy way to die, simply because the chances to get electrocuted are low. Still, your sims can suffer an accident and be shocked to death, literally.

How to trigger this death: Repair electronic objects repeatedly with a handiness inexperienced sims. Eventually, the event will generate.

5. Overexertion

Going beyond your body’s capabilities in The Sims 4 will activate an unexpected way to die, death by overexertion. This type of death can occur at any age from the young adult stage beyond and there’s several ways to trigger it.

How to trigger this death: Push your sims to the limits with physical exercise (until you get the -40 sore uncomfortable moodlet), then WooHoo. Your sims will go over the limits and perish.

6. Embarrassment

Dying from embarrassment sounds ridiculous but it’s one of the new death possibilities in The Sims 4. To unlock this death you need to humiliate your sims in many ways. Peeing in your pants, having an awkward social encounter or having another sims invading your privacy will drive your sims insane and overly depressed, which can be lethal.

How to trigger this death: Embarrass your sims in several ways until he/she can’t handle it anymore.

7. Laughter

Another death generated by emotions is the laughter. It literally means that your sims can die from laughing too much. Just as the electrocution, this event has low probabilities to happen so patience is the main key.

How to trigger this death: Get your sims into the playful mood and repeat jokes and funny interactions.

 8. Laganaphyllis Simnovorii (Cow Plant)

Mature Cow Plants can devour sims causing immediate death. This type of plant is rare and hard to get, you can see how to get one here.

How to trigger this death: Try to get the Cow Plant’s cake.

9. Social Services

Even though this is not a real death it works as such. If sims don’t take proper care of their child, the social services will take them away and there will be no further contact, working as if the child died (at least to the family).

How to trigger this death: Do not feed your child for several days.

Here’s a full list of possible ways to kill your sims but be aware that ghosts do not exist anymore and certain deaths won’t leave a grave behind.

How to Fix Destiny Crashes & Error Codes (Like Ce-34787-0 Error)

Destiny

The launch of Destiny is finally upon us and we are clearly talking about the launch of the biggest game this year. Its publishers reported that it made no less than half a billion dollars in the first 24 hours after launch, so it’s that big! However, you can’t have a huge game without its fair share of problems and we are here to try to fix them. We’re mainly talking about the Destiny crashes and error codes like the Ce-34787-0 error (Centipede Error) that relates to connection problems.

So let’s not waste any time and let’s see below some tips and tricks on how to fix Destiny crashes and errors that prevent us from playing or fully enjoying the game.

Most of the errors in Destiny that have been reported so far come after the “ATTENTION: Contacting Destiny Servers” message and they sometimes have names of animals (Chicken, Centipede, Bee and so on). A really common error is also the aforementioned Ce-34787-0 that drives people crazy. So… what can you do about it?

These errors are all connectivity-related errors. In most cases, making sure that your NAT (network address translation) is set up properly will fix these errors and you will be allowed to play the game without a problem. A Type 1 NAT (PlayStation) or an Open NAT Type (Xbox) is preferred.

The problem? People playing on College campus connections don’t have access to change these settings and all they can do right now is wait for Bungie to fix this.

For those who can make these changes, we have links to instructions on how to change the NAT settings based on the console you own:

Change NAT on PS4 or PS3
Change NAT on Xbox One or Xbox 360

These are the ports you’ll need to unlock:

7500-17899 (TCP) – Outbound
30000-40399 (TCP) – Outbound
35000-35099 (UDP) – Inbound and Outbound
3074 (UDP) – Inbound and Outbound

UPDATE: Great news for those experiencing the Centipede error while playing on college connections, posted on the official forums: “We’re making progress toward a solution to the university network issue. A potential cause are security devices that don’t recognize Destiny network traffic. We’re in touch with the manufacturers of these devices to create an update that we hope will enable you to play.”

Now you know what you have to do to fully enjoy the game! Don’t hesitate to let us know by commenting below if you have other issues or, even better, if you manage to find a different fix to the Destiny crashes and error codes.

The Sims 4 Guide: How to Make Your Sim Younger

Sims

Aging is part of life itself and as obvious, it’s part of the Sims world as well. However, it’s always disappointing to watch your favorite sim getting old and eventually die from natural causes. But don’t panic, there’s a few things that can be done to slow and/or reverse aging in The Sims 4.

Note: All the tricks mentioned here are not cheats.

 1. Potion of Youth

Drinking a potion of youth will reset your sim’s current age state. This means that all the days lived in a current age group will go back to zero. However, if your sim is already an elder, he/she cannot become an adult or young adult anymore. So, if you want your sim to remain really young, you need to drink this potion before reaching elderly. You can obtain this item thought the life time rewards store, it costs 1.500 points.

 2. Timeline Freezer

For those who wish to be young and fresh forever, this is most likely the best option. You can freeze the aging timeline through the game options: Game Options > Gameplay > Auto Age > No. This mode will affect your ability to have children and it will also affect the natural growing process of existent children and teenagers, who will never reach the adult phase.

 3. Augmented Lifespan

Extending sim’s lifespan will still preserve the natural aging aspect of the game. Instead of freezing time, as the last option, it will slow the process of aging, therefore extending your possible living days. To trigger this option you must do the following steps in game: Game Options > Gameplay > Sim Lifespan > Long.

 4. Pregnancy

This method only works for female sims at the adult stage. If you manage to get your sim pregnant a few days before reaching elderly, then she will remain as an adult until she gives birth. This method is risky and it can only delay the elderly stage for a few days, still it’s a viable way.

How to Fix The Sims 4 Crashes, Freezes and Other Errors

Sims

The launch of The Sims 4 has been met with a standing ovation by the community and this is indeed the game that will keep us busy for a long time starting now. However, not all players are as lucky as most of us when it comes to fully enjoying the game and there are reports of The Sims 4 crashes, freezes and other errors, glitches or bugs that make the game unplayable or just not as good as it should be. We are here to share with you a complete set of tips and tricks that will hopefully help you fix The Sims 4 crashes, freezes and other problems that you might be encountering in order to enjoy the full experience of this amazing game.

First of all, before trying any of the fixes listed below, make sure that your computer or laptop meets the minimum system requirements to run the game. Also, make sure that you have applied the latest Sims 4 patch and that you tune down the visual settings according to your system’s specifications (if you run on an older computer, try tuning things down a little bit).

So here are the Sims 4 minimum system requirements to start with and exclude possible compatibility issues:

REQUIRED: Internet connection required for product activation.
OS: Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 8, or Windows 8.1
PROCESSOR: 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4000+ or equivalent (For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62 or equivalent) MEMORY: At least 2 GB RAM
HARD DRIVE: At least 9 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games
VIDEO CARD: 128 MB of Video RAM and support for Pixel Shader 3.0. Supported Video Cards: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or better, ATI Radeon X1300 or better, Intel GMA X4500 or better

If you meet the requirements and you still encounter problems, it’s time to go a bit more in depth with the tips and tricks.

How to Fix Sims 4 Crashes

Many reports come from users whose game crashes or becomes unresponsive shortly after launch or during regular gameplay. Apparently, that is caused by outdated drivers. Make sure you are running the latest drivers for your graphics card: download the GeForce 340.52 Driver here and the AMD driver here.

Alternately, you should try running the game in Windowed mode. This is specifically useful if your computer restarts when playing The Sims 4 or trying to launch it.

The users whose game crashes after the keyboard freezes in the game managed to prevent this from happening by disabling Origin in the game. In order to do so, right click on The Sims 4, go to properties and check the “Disable Origin” box. Restart the game and you should have no further problems.

Finally, if none of these fixes work, try running the game in offline mode. This also helps users with a lot of crashing and freezing, as well as other performance problems.

How to Fix Sims 4 Black Screen & Llama Face Error

This is a strange error that the game gives you when it doesn’t manage to locate your Origin install. There’s a bit of work involved to do this, but at least you’ll be able to play the game in the end. So, first of all, uninstall your game from Origin. Then, you have to uninstall Origin itself: the easiest way is to head over to its install folder and uninstall it from there (usually C:\Program Files (x86)/Origin/OriginUninstall.exe).

After uninstalling Origin, you have to restart your computer. Install Origin again from its official website (click here) and then install The Sims 4 once more. Play the game and it should work just fine!

How to fix The Sims 4 Missing DLL: [msvcp120.dll] Error: 0x7E

This is usually caused by the fact that you are missing some installs on your computer. Simply go to the Sims 4 Origin install folder (Origin/The Sims 4/__Installer/vc/vc2013/redist) and install vcredist_x64 and vcredist_x86 to fix this problem.

How to Fix The Sims 4 Blurred Graphics & other Graphic bugs

If this is only affecting your Sims, then you have to go to the Game Options and select the Graphics tab. Select the Uncompressed Sim Textures box, then apply changes and restart the game for the change to take effect. Your Sims should look OK now.

If this is not limited to the Sims only, you can try to run the game in the Laptop Mode which automatically adjusts the game’s graphics to match the system’s power. If this still doesn’t work, try turning off the Post Processing Effects in the Graphics menu to have the game looking as smooth as possible.

These are, for now, our Sims 4 crash fixes and tips to improving the game’s performance. We really hope that you find them useful and they will help you get your game running as it should: flawlessly!

How to Switch to The Sims 3 Camera in The Sims 4

Sims

The launch of The Sims 4 brings a change that is not necessary welcome by those who have played The Sims 3 a lot: the camera angle is changed and it makes it a bit difficult to get around and take care of your Sims and the game overall. Fortunately, the S3 camera view is still available in The S3, and if you want to get on familiar grounds and activate it, you’re at the right place as we have the guide for that!

So if you want to switch to the S3 camera in The S4, there are a few methods to achieve it:

Method #1:

– In the Pause menu, go to the “Game Options” menu and select “Controls & Camera” on the left side of the screen
– Notice that there is an unchecked box that reads “The  Camera”. Simply check that box, Apply the changes and you’re back on familiar camera views!

Method #2:

You can switch between cameras easily by simply pressing Ctrl + Shift + Tab on your keyboard at the same time (Mac users should press CMND + SHIFT + TAB)

I hope this helps. And don’t forget, if you need more help with the it, we have more guides and articles that you can check out below:

The Sims 4: How to Unlock the Forgotten Grotto in Oasis Springs

Sims

The second hidden lot in The Sims 4 is the Forgotten Grotto which can be found in Oasis Springs. And since we’ve already shared with you how to unlock the Sylvan Glade in the game, we will also tell you how to get access to the nice Forgotten Grotto in Oasis Springs as well.

Just like with the previous hidden area, there are a few steps that you have to follow if you want to unlock the Forgotten Grotto in The Sims 4:

  • Get to Level 10 Handiness (read three books) before starting this adventure!
  • Then, you have to go to the Desert Bloom park in Oasis Springs.
  • Once you get there, travel away from the park towards the mountains. There’s a bit of walking that you have to do: first, you will get to a Bathroom inside the mountain, then go to the left of it until you find an abandoned cave entrance.
  • Now you have to interact with the Mine Cave. Since you have level 10 Handiness, you can interact with the door and blast it away.
  • After the door is away, select “Explore” to start your adventure towards the Forgotten Grotto. You need to select the right answers, and these are: Take the Wide Path, Climb the Ladder, Step onto the Ledge, Travel to Grotto, OK.

Now you have access to this beautiful area and a ton of great collectables are waiting for you. Don’t forget to fish as well!

And if my step by step guide was not enough for you, you have a video below showing exactly what to do in order to get to this secret lot:

The Sims 4: How to Unlock the Sylvan Glade in Willow Creek

Sims

There are some secret lots aka hidden lots in the recently launched Sims 4 game and they are not as easy to find or unlock if you don’t know exactly what to do. Vgamerz has you covered on this and we’ll help you with guides on how to unlock each of these secret areas in the game.

Today we’re starting this series with The Sims 4 guide on how to unlock the Sylvan Glade lot in Willow Creek. Basically, the golden rule of thumb of each secret lot so far has been to find the entrance and interact with it, then solve the short adventure to unlock it. For the Sylvan Glade in Willow Creek, here is what to do:

  • Travel to the Crick Cabana in Willow Creek and explore the public area near the house until you find the Sylvan Tree: you can’t miss it, as it’s pretty different than the rest (largest tree with flowers on the sides).
  • Once you find the tree, click it and select the “View” option, then repeat this until eventually a door will appear near the tree.
  • You’ll be able to start the Tree Adventure where you have to select the correct “answers”. For each description that you get in this adventure, select the following options: Follow the Sound, Follow Downstream, Enter the Mist, Travel to Glade, OK.

You will now get to Sylvan Glade in the Sims 4 and you can now visit it over and over again – there are a bunch of nice collectibles to find in this nice area, so you should be pretty happy that you got there. Here’s an YouTube video showing exactly what you have to do to get there if our instructions are not easy enough to follow:

How to Get a Cow Plant in The Sims 4 & Grow It in Your Garden

Sims

The strange looking but oh-so-amazing cow plant makes a return in The Sims 4! And since getting a Cow Plant in the Sims 4 is different from the previous iteration, we are here to teach you just that: how to get a cow plant in The Sims 4. We won’t include a dozen of free Sims to feed them to it, though – you’re on your own here!

I was saying that getting the Cow Plant is a bit different in the new game: it’s no longer available as an unlockable career or aspiration reward. Instead, you have to look for seeds on yourself – and it won’t be easy!

Right now, there is one single confirmed location that gives you a chance to get a Cow Plant seed, but there are probably more too. However, here is the confirmed method: you have to go fishing! Don’t fish anywhere, though! Instead, head over to the Desert Bloom lot in Oasis Springs and find the small pond behind the rock canyon. That’s where you have to start fishing and eventually you will be rewarded with the rare Laganaphyllis Simnovorii seed aka the Cow Plant seed.

The Cow Plant has to be taken good care of in order to get the most out of it: after planting the seed, you have to water it daily until it reaches adult size. As a guideline if it needs watering or not, if the dirt at the base of the plant is light brown, it needs water.

Once the Cow Plant grows to adult size, it can feed with whole Sims who are fooled by it’s cake-like tongue. Pretty creepy, I know, but it does produce rejuvenating milk which you can use to… well… rejuvenate your Sim! Here’s a short video of the Cow Plant in action in The Sims 4:

And this ends our guide. Don’t forget to let us know by commenting below if you were able to find the Cow Plant in a different location than the one mentioned by us!

How to Make a Lot of Money in The Sims 4 Without Cheating

So, you are finally there: started playing the Sims 4, probably got hooked and you now want to make more money in the game without cheating. I personally believe that this is the best possible approach as this is how a game should be played – and I am here to help you achieve that easier and share with you some answers to the question how to make a lot of money in The Sims 4 without using cheats. Let’s get this started!

PS: If you find it too difficult, you can always check out our cheats for infinite money in the game. Just saying….

Get a job and get promoted
The easiest, classic way of making money: get a job, work hard and get promoted. When you start working, you will receive a pretty low salary per hour, but if you keep working and get better, that will increase. This is extremely useful money, so make sure that you do your job well and pretty soon you’ll start reaping on the benefits.

Get married
The fastest way to double your income (or more) is to get married. You will automatically get a new person that brings in the money to your household and, using the first rule, you will be able to make a nice sum that will eventually allow you all the luxuries that you want. If you manage to score one of the rich Sims, it’s even better. But either way, getting married in The Sims 4 is extremely profitable!

Hobbies make you money
Painting, writing or inventing stuff – all these are hobbies that won’t make you much when you start them, but if you keep on doing it and increase your skill levels here, you will soon earn a lot of money from these hobbies. Just try to get one and stick to it (one per Sim, actually), so that you become a real master of the hobby and can sell your creations for a nice profit.

Sing for some Simoleons
It’s not as easy as turning your hobby into a money making machine, but it works. Start practicing on your guitar and when your skill level is high enough, go to a park or a really crowded area and play for tips. Eventually, as your skill continues to go up, you will make some nice extra money.

Do stuff that earns you things
There are a lot of items to collect in the game and also a lot of stuff you can do in The Sims 4 that can potentially earn you extra money. From simply collecting stuff and animals as you play the game from parks and backyards to going fishing or growing vegetables, there are a ton of things that can give you items which can later on be sold for a profit. Even though most of these items won’t earn you much, the rarer they get, the more money they will make you, so keep on doing it and eventually you will score big!

In the end, if you want to make money in The Sims 4 without cheating, you have to follow the real life rules most of the time. In other words, be extremely active and keep on doing the things that you do. Eventually, your income and money stash will be high enough for you to live a luxury life!
